After leaving the paddock we headed back out to watch the race again, taking a good look at the cars from the inside of the circuit at the Dunlop Curve. From then it was on over the Dunlop Bridge to our seats in the Dunlop Grandstand to watch the final couple of hours of the race.

By this time, it was clear that barring accident, the Nielsen/Cobb/Brundle Jaguar would win the race. With only 15 minutes left on the clock, disaster struck the second placed Brun Porsche, which suffered terminal engine failure as it was running down the Mulsanne Straight. A sad end for Walter Brun, Jesus Pareja and Oscar Larrauri, but one which nevertheless left us with a very satisfying Jaguar one-two. As the race finished under rather overcast skies, and several spots of rain, Ian took a last few minutes of film on the video camera which he used for the majority of the week-end, instead of his SLR. (I never got to see that video, unfortunately!).
