Phew, Success!

Well, today was the day!  The day member ticketing opened for the 2024 edition of the 24 Heures du Mans.  And what a tense, nerve-wracking experience it was too.  I was there, logged in half an hour before ticketing opened, only to be thrown out when the countdown timers started.  Sitting there with two memberships logged in for the two 'Team Crouton' accounts on separate browsers in order to obtain tickets for four people again.  Last year, I was done and dusted by 9.20 am but this year the wait was much longer and significantly more frustrating, wondering what would be left by the time I got in.  My first port of call was for the grandstand tickets as I had again worked out exactly what we needed.  Once I got in the frustration continued as so many seats had gone already but I did manage to snag four in a row (having to synchronise two on each of the two accounts!).  Then it was parking - and this year I knew what I was doing - unlike last year.  Finally I also managed to get camping tickets for Tony, one of the Tourists party (as most of the 'old' Tourists had decided not to make the trip this year).  So all in all, a successful exercise...

I was actually shaking by the time I finished the orders and treble-checked them to make sure I'd got what I needed.  I ordered all of the tickets by hard copy thanks to my inbuilt distrust of e-tickets and with luck, we should have them by the end of the week.  It's exciting, we have ticketing, ferries and accommodation now all booked for next June, we just have a seven month wait now....
