' The Beginning of The Night '
We walked back through the beginning of the Village at Dunlop and on through the tunnel, heading back to the ACO cafe at the back of T17/T18. Although none of the five of us had tickets for the grandstand this year we were all signed in as members or guests so we went in to eat. We went for simple burgers and frites which were just about OK, apart from the strange gloopy and vaguely unpleasant mayonnaise in the burgers. The French can make some fabulous food but sometimes have strange ideas when it comes down to basic 'circuit fare'....
After eating we went out onto the tribunes. The light was now fading fast and the wonderful (but sadly so brief) Le Mans night was just beginning. We stayed there for about 45 minutes while it became fully dark when our thoughts began to turn to moving on out to the back of the circuit.
